The Powerline heads south out of Genoa then turns west and climbs the historic Old Pony Express Route. Every turn brings amazing new vistas of the valley below and the mountains above.
It continues on the old toll route down towards the lake and then heads south for awesome views of Lake Tahoe from Van Sickle Bi State Park. After passing the gondola line and Heavenly’s California Lodge, the course follows Tahoe’s Powerline Single Track which traces the edge of the lake basin. The ride then passes through Christmas Valley and climbs the old route to Big Meadow Trail Head before climbing Luther Pass via the Tahoe Rim Trail. Riders descend Luther Pass to the east via the old roadway and then enjoy a fast descent down Woodfords Canyon and a rolling return to the start along the west side of Carson Valley.
This loop features everything from single track and sand to both new and abandoned asphalt.
